I remember receiving my first Casio watch as a birthday present years ago and although the band on it eventually broke, it survived the toughest of abuse. My first Casio wasn't even a G Shock.
I got this G-Shock Rescue Red watch for Christmas this year and I love the way the red looks. It's eye catching and simply looks tough. It comes with a low-temp LCD in case you wander into much colder environments, electroluminescent display (with auto on feature when tilted), stop watch, countdown timer, tidal, lunar and date tracking. I don't have much use for the tidal/lunar functions, but it's nice to have them. This watch, like my first Casio, has a mute feature that lets you turn off the beeping when going from menu to menu. I never understood why this is important until I took the LSATs, where no beeping mechanisms/electronics are allowed.
As for the amount of abuse this watch can take, it's still too early for me to tell, but I'm pretty sure it'll survive almost anything.
Excellent!

Looks great and functions well. I have received a few compliments on this watch as well. I would buy this watch again if I ever lost the one that I have.

This watch is awesome; I got the red one after purchasing the white rescue G Shock.
Everyone asks where I got. I'm a avid surfer and a personal trainner, so I needed a watch that could take a beating.
